Welcome to the world of Anchor and Rise Doula Services!

Prenatal Care

Building trust and connection starts long before labor begins. During our prenatal meetings, I’m here to help you feel informed, prepared, and supported for the journey ahead. Each meeting is tailored to you and your unique needs. My goal is for you to feel confident and empowered as you approach your baby’s birth. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Birth Planning: We’ll explore your hopes, preferences, and any concerns you have about labor, birth, and postpartum. Together, we can create a birth plan that reflects your values and priorities.
  • Education & Information: I’ll help you understand what to expect during labor and birth, explain common medical procedures, and discuss your options so you can make confident choices.
  • Comfort Techniques: I’ll teach you and your partner hands-on comfort measures such as breathing, massage, positioning, and other tools to help you cope with labor.
  • Partner Preparation: If you have a partner, I’ll help them feel prepared and involved, offering tips on how they can best support you physically and emotionally.
  • Emotional Support: Pregnancy brings many emotions. Our sessions are a safe space to talk through any fears, hopes, or questions you have.
  • Resources & Referrals: I can connect you with trusted local resources, including childbirth classes, lactation consultants, mental health providers, and more.

Labor & Delivery Support

As your birth doula, I will be by your side throughout your labor and birth experience. My goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and empowered every step of the way. My role is not to replace your partner or medical team, but to enhance your support circle and help create a birth experience where you feel respected, cared for, and empowered. During your labor and birth, I provide:

  •  Continuous Support: I’ll be available to join you whenever you feel you need me in labor, whether at home or at your birthing location, and I will remain with you until after your baby is born.
  • Physical Comfort Measures: Gentle touch, massage, counterpressure, positioning suggestions, use of a rebozo, breathing techniques, and other tools to help you cope with contractions and stay as comfortable as possible.
  • Emotional Support: Encouragement, reassurance, and a calm presence to help you feel safe and grounded, no matter how your birth unfolds.
  • Partner Support: I help your partner feel confident and involved, offering guidance on how they can best support you and also ensuring they can take breaks and care for themselves during the process.
  • Advocacy: I help you navigate communication with your care team, making sure you understand your options and feel comfortable asking questions and making decisions that align with your wishes.
  • Immediate Postpartum Support: I stay with you for 1-3 hours after birth to assist with initial feeding, help you get settled, and ensure you and your baby are doing well.

Postpartum Care

Bringing your baby home is a beautiful and sometimes overwhelming transition. My postpartum support is designed to help you feel nurtured, confident, and cared for as you adjust to life with your newborn. My goal is to help you feel supported and confident as you settle into your new rhythm as a family. You deserve gentle care during this tender and transformative time.During your postpartum visit(s), I offer:

  •  Emotional Support: A safe space to share your birth story, talk through your feelings, and receive encouragement without judgment.
  • Newborn Care Guidance: Tips and hands-on help with soothing techniques, babywearing, diapering, bathing, and other newborn care basics.
  • Feeding Support: Assistance with breastfeeding/chestfeeding or bottle feeding, including positioning, latch help, and troubleshooting common challenges.
  • Postpartum Recovery Tips: Guidance on physical recovery, self-care, and when to seek additional medical support if needed.
  • Partner and Family Support: Helping your partner or family adjust, offering reassurance, and suggesting ways they can support you and your baby.
  • Referrals and Resources: Recommendations for trusted local professionals like lactation consultants, mental health specialists, pelvic floor therapists, and more, if needed.

Virtual Support

Distance doesn’t have to mean disconnection. I offer virtual doula support for families who prefer remote care or are located outside of my travel area. Through video calls, phone, text, and email, I provide the same compassionate, knowledgeable guidance—just in a more flexible format.

What's included:

  • Virtual Prenatal Meetings: We’ll meet via video call to talk through your birth preferences, build a birth plan, and prepare with comfort techniques, education, and emotional support.
  • On-Call Labor Support: I’ll be available by phone, text, or video throughout your labor to offer real-time encouragement, suggest comfort measures, answer questions, and guide your support person.
  • Partner Coaching: I’ll equip your partner or support person with practical tools and confidence so they can be an      active, calm presence for you throughout labor.
  • Virtual Postpartum Visit: After your baby arrives, we’ll reconnect to check in emotionally, discuss your birth experience, answer newborn care or feeding questions, and offer continued encouragement.
  • Ongoing Support: You’ll have ongoing access to me during your package for text and email support, resource sharing, and emotional check-ins.
